Frequently Asked Questions

Is it legal to prescribe medication online?

Absolutely. Skinny Theory has developed advanced telehealth tools that empower licensed doctors and nurse practitioners to deliver medical care and support to individuals remotely. Each healthcare provider you engage with through Skinny Theory is fully licensed to diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and administer treatments within your state. If you have any feedback about our platform or wish to address any concerns regarding a healthcare provider on the Skinny Theory platform, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Is this a safe way to receive treatment?

  • Certainly. In Skinny Theory's telehealth practice, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of your care hinges on your honesty, accuracy, and completeness when answering questions during your visit. It's crucial to upload only your own pictures and identification, taken during the online session, rather than someone else's. Whether it's telemedicine or in-person visits, healthcare providers rely heavily on accurate and up-to-date information about your condition.
  • Doctors and nurse practitioners at Skinny Theory rely solely on the information you provide during your visit and through secure communication channels like chat, phone, or video. External verification of this information is not possible. Moreover, when prescribed medication, it's essential to thoroughly review the personalized treatment plan provided by your healthcare provider before starting any treatment. Understanding the contents of this plan fully allows you to assess the risks and benefits associated with the treatment accurately.

How quickly will a healthcare professional review my initial history?

  • After your online visit, a doctor or nurse practitioner will complete their initial review of your medical history within 24 hours.
  • If you’ve been waiting longer than this, please email skinnycare@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it.

Can I video chat with my healthcare professional?

After you’ve finished your initial online visit and a doctor or nurse practitioner has decided you’re a good candidate for telemedicine, you can speak with a doctor or nurse practitioner via messaging, phone call, or a video conference any time you like.

Is a video chat required?

It depends. Telemedicine laws vary by state. A small number of states require a provider and patient to chat via video. If you live in one of those states, after your initial online visit, a doctor or nurse practitioner will reach out to set up a convenient time to chat.

Can I use any pharmacy?

If you choose our pharmacy network, we’ll ship your treatment to you in our discreet packaging. We offer free shipping on every order, as well as customer support 365 days a year.

You can always choose your own pharmacy, although Skinny Theory cannot guarantee the pricing of the medications processed outside of our pharmacy network. It’s also important that your pharmacy is able to receive e-prescriptions and that it’s part of the Surescripts Network (the Surescripts Network includes 95% of pharmacies across the country).

It’s an emergency. What do I do?

In an emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
